The Tabernacle in the Wilderness is a perfect type and shadow of the Lord Jesus Christ. The type is God’s own picture and they point forward to Christ. Every detail of this Tabernacle points to some aspect of the person and the work of our Savior. He is the more perfect eternal dwelling place of God and it is after this pattern of the Lord Jesus that every part and detail of this tabernacle was designed. The very detail of the structure, the furniture, materials, and work in the ministry revealed some particular aspect of His infinite grace, virtues, attributes, personality, and work of our Savior. We will see many beautiful illustrations depicting the life, the work, and the character of the Lord Jesus. It is the Jesus of the New Testament that we see the types of the Old Testament. We can see Him in the altar as the Lamb, as the Priest in the varied glories of his person and the very aspect of His work. It speaks to us of His atoning, meditorial, and intercessory work.
The deeper our appreciation is of the Lord the closer we will study each type that speaks to us of Him. I believe that the believer that is most aquainted with the Lord that loves Him best will see the beauty in these types so we can look closely at Him that we love. We look forward to your participation as we journey into this wonderful tour in the Tabernacle in the Wilderness.
